When Molly and I were little puppies and we arrived at our new home in Colorado, we were greeted by a seven year old Scottie who became our older sister/Scottie mom.  Her name was Sunny and she showed us little pups all the ropes.

When Sadie arrived as a puppy two years later, Sunny became her big sister/Scottie mom too and for years she was someone who the rest of us Scotties looked up to.  We followed Sunny around and she tolerated our antics, but she also kept us in line with a snap of her jaws when we got in her face and we all respected that she was the boss.

We sadly lost Sunny to liver cancer in 2019, which left us without our head dog and we really felt a huge hole in our little Scottie family without her motherly presence.  Sunny was such a great dog, especially since she put up with three of us Scottie youngsters after she had lost her brother, Kirby, who she had spent her entire life with, so when Wen found out about the Eric & Christopher photo contest, she decided to enter her favorite photo of Sunny to honor her memory.  If Sunny’s smiling photo would happen to win the contest, it would be a great tribute to her.  As a bonus, the company screen prints the winners’ images on their products (pillows, tote bags, and towels) and the people who submit the winning photos receive free products with their pets’ images.

Sunny received enough votes to become a top 10 finalist in the dog category of the contest, which was very exciting!  Then, the staff of Eric & Christopher selected the winners from the finalists.  Imagine Wen’s surprise when she received an email that Sunny’s photo was chosen the winner of the dog category!  Her wish of a tribute to her beloved Sunny had actually come true, thanks to the all the kind people who had voted for her and the staff members who had chosen her photo.

Now we wait for products with Sunny’s image to arrive and when they are displayed around our house, we will have the best constant reminder of our beloved Scottie.  Contest or no contest, she will always be a winner in our hearts.
