It’s that time of year when little yellow warning flags pop up in yards and grassy areas. These flags warn that pesticide has recently been applied and it’s especially important to keep children and dogs off newly sprayed areas. The flags are usually marked with the date of application by the company, so when you see these flags, heed the warning. Better to be safe than sorry! (Isn’t it ironic that the dog image on the flags is a Scottie, since exposure to lawn chemicals has been shown to exacerbate a genetic predisposition in Scotties for developing bladder cancer. Coincidence? Maybe not!)
