Every year, the Denver Dunb Friends League sponsors the Furry Scurry to benefit the League’s shelter. People make donations to run the race and walk their dogs around the trails of Denver’s scenic Washington Park as a community to support the shelter and at the end of the race, there are all sorts of dog-related vendors and activities and it is a festive annual event.
This year, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Furry Scurry race and dog walk had to become a virtual race, since thousands of people and dogs normally take part in the event. Wen did make a donation though and I am wearing my Furry Scurry bandanna to show our support, even though we can’t do the normal walk around the lake at Wash Park.
