Evidently, way before my time, there was a popular 80’s movie called Romancing the Stone that had some snapping gators or crocs or whatever that inspired a line: “Look at those snappers, will ya?”
This line has stuck with Wen over the decades, because when she sees any kind of gator with big teeth, she says “nice snapper.” Even with gator dog toys (which we have had many), the snapper comment comes up.
Here I am with our most recent little snapper toy who is flashing his teeth, but wait a minute—come to think of it, we Scotties have big teeth too and they’re real, so I suppose we could be called snappers also!
