Popular Sadie

My sister, Sadie, went on her weekly nursing home visit with Wen yesterday.  As per usual, she made herself at home on Wen’s friend’s bed and when one of the nurses came in and sat down next to the bed, Sadie scooched over to be petted and the nurse spent quite awhile scratching her ears and her back.  A little while later, one of the residents came into the room in her wheelchair and Sadie sat up on the bed to greet her.  All of the ladies paid a lot of attention to Sadie and of course, Sadie entertained them by being her cute tail wagging self and she even did her guard dog routine by keeping watch of the people walking down the hall as they passed the room’s open door.  Each time that Sadie spotted someone, she would jump up to attention on the bed and watch them like a hawk and when she couldn’t see the person anymore, she would lie back down on the bed until someone else walked by.  The ladies all agreed that Sadie was doing a good job protecting them!

Each week when Wen and Sadie walk through the nursing home, the residents in their wheelchairs wave and smile at them and when one of them asks to see Sadie, Wen holds her so that they can pet her, which the residents really enjoy.  It seems that little Sadie is becoming quite the popular visitor!
