Out of the eleven Scotties that Wen has had over the years, seven of us have had wheaten colored haircoats. Back in 1980, when Wen and her husband saw the first wheaten puppy that they had ever seen (other than a picture in a book), they had to have her and Wen’s love of wheaten Scotties has only increased since then.
They named that first little puppy “Frostianna MacDuff” (Frosty) and the parade of wheatens after her has included Corky, Kirby, Frosty (a rescue Scottie named after the original), Sunny, Molly, and myself.
Most of us have had very light colored hair that almost appears off-white with some wheat colored highlights, while I seem to have the darkest wheaten hair of the bunch with more reddish highlights. All of us eleven Scotties, no matter what color our coats are, have been lucky dogs to have been a part of our MacDuff clan, but as Wen likes to say, “Once you go wheaten, you just keep repeatin’!”
