Scottie Crafting Time

It’s Scottie crafting time again!  Every year, Wen makes craft items with a Scottie theme for her friends at Scottie club and she has been painting and hot gluing for hours every night for the past week.  Of course, we Scotties are always nosing around while she’s working on her crafts, as we are curious about everything that goes on and since she is working with lots of miniature items, we have to check on what she’s doing constantly, because you  never know when something interesting might fall to the floor!

Crafting time keeps us Scotties busy sniffing around, which makes Wen keep a constant eye on us, so that we don’t grab something off the floor and eat it.  She already had to rescue a bow from Sadie and several pieces of plastic that inadvertantly fell off the kitchen counter workspace before we fast little hoovers could suck them up, since anything that falls on the floor seems to be fair game for us.

All the crafting activity captures our attention though and Wen enjoys crafting, so this is a fun time for all of us.  Hopefully, the Scottie club members will enjoy the craft items, because our kitchen is really in a  state of crafting chaos right now!

It’s Monday Again.

Here it is, another Monday morning.  We Scotties got up so early to do our morning routine of going outside, eating, and going outside again that it was before dawn.  It was so dark that our backyard lights were still on and the sun was nowhere to be seen, so Wen decided that we would all go back to bed.

Yes, it’s Monday again, but after our extra hour of sleep, we Scotties were raring to go!  Bring it on!

It’s Monday again.

Staking My Claim

Whenever we get new chew toys, my two sisters go to grab them immediately.  Since I’m the laid back Scottie of our doggie trio, that doesn’t bother me, because I’m not obsessed with chew toys like they are.

Yesterday, however, when I saw Wen collect our shared chew toys that we had strewn around the living room floor and toss them into our dog bed, I went running over and sat on the bed with the toys before Molly or Sadie could get there.  For some odd reason, it seemed important at the time to stake my claim on the bed and the toys.  There I sat as if I were Mr. Big Stuff, but the moment soon passed and I hopped out of the bed and was on my way.  Not long after, my sisters had dragged two chew toys back onto the floor and they were gnawing away on them, but at least I had a couple minutes of feeling as if the bed and all the toys were mine.

All mine!

Little Helpers

When Wen does chores around the house, she always has company.  We Scotties don’t like to be left out of any activity and we need to be close by in order to supervise.  Since we are so nosy, whenever Wen has us little helpers around to watch what she is doing, we sometimes get in the way and if truth be told, we really aren’t much help, but we still like to be involved.  For example, when she changes bed sheets, at least one of us Scotties can usually be found lying in the middle of the bedspread and sheets on the floor as she puts on clean sheets and she has to shoo us away in order to finish her task.

At least we are around for moral support though, because having Scotties around should make any chore more pleasant.  Right?!

On to Next Season….

Congrats to the Tampa Bay Lightning, who are the new Stanley Cup Champions!  We rooted for our Colorado Avalanche throughout the playoffs and when they were defeated in the second round game seven overtime, due to so many team members out with injuries, we rooted for the two teams who played the team that injured our players.

Now we are excited for the upcoming hockey season, which unfortunately will be delayed for months, but hopefully, all our Avs players will be healthy again and will make a good run for the Stanley Cup.  On to next season….

We Need a Win!

It’s Sunday fun day and it’s time for another Broncos game!  We love to root for our favorite team, even though it seems as though all the really good players are out with injuries and they’re having a rough start to the season.  Yes, we are riding the roller coaster of Broncos highs and lows, but we love football and we are fiercely loyal to our team.  Let’s go Broncos!  We need a win!

A Dog of Many Costumes

I am a dog of many costumes.  Since I am the calmest, most laid back (best behaved) Scottie of the three of us, Wen can dress me up and I will pose like a model!  Molly is a little too fidgety and Sadie doesn’t want to sit still or cooperate at all, so that leaves me, the mellow one.

People have asked if I have a huge closet to hold all of my props and outfits, but we only keep the really special ones and then the rest are donated to Goodwill.  We do have a large Rubbermaid tub that holds costumes and props, which has overflowed into a big shopping bag and they take up a corner of the linen closet.  Okay, if truth be told, there’s also another Rubbermaid tub in the living room coat closet which is full of props, so maybe we do have quite a collection.

Taking pictures and posting them over the years has been fun though and Wen is always on the lookout for unique costume ideas.  If we can tell a story by my dressing up and bring a smile to anyone, we have accomplished something and the tradition of taking fun pictures that began with Kirby and Sunny and was passed on to me will continue!

Who’s a Blues Brothers fan?

If Scotties Surfed the Net….

Every day, we Scotties watch as Wen uses her iPad.  For all of the time that she spends looking at that thing, it must be really fascinating!

Just imagine, if we Scotties surfed the net, what would we be browsing?  Well, other Scotties for sure, dog videos, tasty food ads, and maybe videos of animals we like to chase, such as cats, rabbits, and squirrels.  Maybe we’d even be face timing other dogs!

It’s a good thing that we aren’t obsessed with the internet like people are, because either we would all be fighting for Internet time or we would need to get more iPads!

“What are you two looking at?”

“Nothing!”

Rise and Shine!

Here it is, the weekend!  Since we get up every day at 6 AM to eat and go outside before the huge noisy dogs that live next door are let out, can we sleep in today?  No?  I didn’t think so.  Rise and shine!

Can we sleep in?
