We Notice!

You may think that we don’t notice when things change, but we Scotties notice!  You better believe if something changes our routine that we feel is important, we are going to notice and we’re going to check it out!

For example, if our treat jar (the big one with the Milk-Bones inside) is moved from its spot on the kitchen counter, we know it and we’re going to check to make sure that jar is still there, because it would be a tragedy if that treat jar disappeared.  Something that important to us Scotties always bears investigation!

We saw you move our treat jar!

Are You Lookin’ At Me?

My sister, Sadie, practically demands attention.  She loves to get right in people’s faces and if they don’t watch out, she will give them a big slurp!  So if a little black dog gives you that “Are you lookin’ at me, ’cause I’m lookin’ at you!” expression close up, watch out, because you’re about to get a big doggie kiss!

Are you lookin’ at me, ’cause I’m lookin’ at you!

It’s That Time of Year….

Here it is, December.  We made it through Thanksgiving and we’re working on Christmas and what normally happens in December?  Wen gets out the doggie Christmas costumes, because it’s that time of year when we take all kinds of holiday photos.  She’s just lucky that I’m a good sport and I tolerate posing for pictures, because my sisters are super wiggly and they don’t like to sit still for having their pictures taken!

So bring on the costumes, the hats, and the props.  It’s time to get festive!

Dogs at Work, Dogs at Play

At our house, we Scotties believe we have a job that happens to be fun.  What would that job be?  It’s our obsession with digging holes in our back yard.

The other day, Wen noticed just how busy the three of us have been when she saw all the holes we have dug since she quit cutting the grass for the season and she was not very pleased with our handy work, so now she has begun placing a dog deterrent in the holes to discourage us from digging deeper.

Who would guess that in our case, dogs at work and dogs at play would be the same thing?!  Since we’re terriers, we love being earth dogs and digging holes is in our nature. Now, the challenge is not getting caught while doing our favorite thing!

Hey, Olaf!

It looks as if it’s gonna be a cold one, so I’m ready with my hat and scarf.  Those clouds overhead must be snow clouds for Olaf, the snowman from Frozen to show up!  Hey, Olaf!  Nice to see ya!

Quality Control

Guess who is the head inspector of Scottie crafts at our house!  Yep, it is me, Riley!  When Wen has finished craft items that are ready to be packed up and sold, they need to pass Scottie quality control and I am happy to oblige!  After all, the nose knows Scottie crafts!

Christmas Has Sneaked in Early!

Since this has been such a strange year, Wen decided to put up Christmas decorations earlier than ever before.  She said that we need a little Christmas, so all of a sudden, our tree and our other festive decorations are in place.  Okay, the fall apple wreath is still up,  just because it’s pretty, but any day now, it will also be replaced with a Christmas wreath.  Even the Scottie nutcrackers have reappeared, so Christmas has definitely sneaked in early this year!  I suppose if people are now staying home more due to the pandemic, we might as well have cheerful decorations to look at!

Slurp, Slurp!

Who’s the dog with the tongue that won’t quit?  Who likes to give slurpy kisses?  It’s Sadie!  She likes to lick practically everything and if you don’t watch out, she’ll sneak up and lick you!

We can’t figure out if she is super affectionate or if licking is a textural thing that just makes her feel good, but a day doesn’t go by without kisses from Sadie.  Slurp, slurp!
