Sadie’s Spot

When the fireplace is on and our dog bed is next to it, my sister, Sadie, will be stretched out on the bed.  It’s her favorite spot on a cold winter night and she loves to snuggle up by the warmth from the fire.  She actually camps out there until she gets too hot and then she hops out of the bed and flops down on the cooler hardwood floor.  After she has cooled down, she’s right back in the dog bed and her back and forth routine continues all evening until we go outside before we go to bed.  I may love snoozing on the dog bed, but Sadie REALLY loves the dog bed, especially when it’s by the fireplace!

Sadie:  Hey, I’m trying to sleep here!

Dog Bloggers

Do you think it’s odd for a dog to have a blog?  I don’t think it’s odd, because I’m a dog, but since most bloggers are humans, maybe a dog blogger is simply unusual and unique.

We dogs have ideas and opinions too though and since it’s hard for us to make a point by barking, sometimes having help to write down our thoughts just works better.

Hockey’s Back!

The day has finally come!  NHL hockey is back and we are excited to cheer on our favorite team, the Colorado Avalanche!  LET’S GO AVS!  LET’S GO AVS!!

Serious Couch Potatoes

For many years, the Scotties in our family were not allowed on the couch.  Finally, after Wen moved to an apartment for awhile in 2006, Kirby, Sunny, and Frosty sneaked up on the couch and were allowed to stay there from then on.  When they moved to our current house, there was brand new furniture and the “no dogs on the couch” rule was enforced again, but after awhile, the three dogs started jumping up on the couch and Wen decided to protect the couch and love seat with quilted couch protectors after she realized that she was fighting a losing battle by trying to keep dogs off the furniture.

By the time I came along and then Molly and Sadie, thanks to those couch protectors, we were hanging out on the couch all the time and have been ever since, so I guess you could call us serious couch potatoes, but there is still one house rule that is firmly in place:  no dogs on the beds!

Is It Possible?

Could it be?  Is it possible?  Have the stars aligned so that my two sisters are actually now hanging out together?  What is going on?  When Molly and Sadie were together the other day, Wen was so surprised that she took their picture and then, miracle of miracles, they were together again yesterday.  Maybe, after five years, they are finally ready to share a space, but whatever is going on, let’s hope it’s a new trend!

Molly’s Daily Routine

Every morning as Wen sits down to watch the news on TV, my sister, Molly, shows up.  She sits there, looking at Wen until she gets her attention and her daily pets and back scratches and then she is off to claim a spot on the couch to curl up for a snooze.

They say that dogs like routine and Molly and her daily routine seem to concur with this.  She likes her morning time with Wen and she makes sure that she gets it every day!

Molly:  Good morning!!
