That Little Goofball

One of us Scotties has a silly streak and is very comical.  It’s my sister, Sadie, and Wen constantly calls her a goofball.  Not only does she roll her eyes and have funny expressions, but she is always flopping over and lying on her back while giving you the eye.

Sadie doesn’t have a mean bone in her body and she is a happy go lucky little dog.  She is definitely the one of us Scotties who keeps us all amused and she is a constant source of entertainment.  That little goofball is certainly one of a kind!

Sun Spots

We Scotties like to seek out the sun spots in our house where the sun streams in through a window and relax there while we’re soakin’ up the sun.  The warm sun spots are ideal for snoozing and whenever we see a spot, we quickly claim that spot, because the warm sun feels so good!  Yep, we Scotties love our sun spots!  They don’t last for very long, but while they’re around, they sure are comfy!

A Bunch of Crunch

Late last night when we went outside in the rain, it was pelting us as it turned into sleet.  Overnight, the sleet turned into snow and the ground was all white when we woke up this morning.  When Wen let us Scotties outside, we made a crunchy sound as we ran across the deck and into the yard, because the snow was so icy that it was crunchy snow.

Wen followed us outside to sweep the snow off the deck while we Scotties cruised around the yard and all you could hear was “crunch, crunch, crunch” and that was  a bunch of crunch!

Detective Riley

Detective Riley is working on a new case.  Some Milk-Bones have mysteriously gone missing and it’s time to investigate.  Who could have snatched those Milk-Bones???

Suspect #1:  Sneaky Sadie

Suspect#2:  Molly the Mooch

Who could be the guilty party?  I don’t know–they both love treats and they both look guilty!!!  This is such a mystery that we need more evidence, so in the meantime, we’d better taste test the legitimacy of some Milk-Bones and deliberate!

URGENT NEWS BULLETIN:  CASE CLOSED!  It was an INSIDE  job.  Molly knocked over the box of Milk-Bones and Sadie stuck her nose INSIDE to grab some treats!

Pillow Talk

We had an old pillow on our couch that needed replacing, so Wen went out and found a new one with a dog theme.  Who would have thought that she would find a pillow with a big paw print on it?  Evidently, it reminded her of an old song called “Puppy Love,” but since we don’t have any puppies at our house, I suppose that “Scottie Love” would be more appropriate.  But enough pillow talk….

And they called it Scottie love….

Scottie Snow Plows

Yep, it snowed overnight again and the Scottie snow plows went into action.  We supposedly got 14 inches, but there were drifts in our front yard that were about two feet tall. We Scotties went bounding out the patio door first thing in the morning and were met with a winter wonderland.  We plowed our way across the deck, down the steps, and across the yard to where the snow wasn’t so high under a big blue spruce tree.  From there we tried to do some exploring and plow some more paths, but the snow was too high for us short dogs, so we had to backtrack and use the path we had already plowed.

Later on in the day, the sun helped us out and melted some of the snow, so we were finally able to crisiscross the yard, but there were still areas that were too deep for us little Scottie snow plows.  Maybe tomorrow we’ll have more luck….

“What’s That Noise?”

All of a sudden yesterday morning, we heard a strange noise coming from outside.  It sounded like tons of hammering going on and after investigating, it turned out that one of the neighbors was getting a new roof installed.

We Scotties had been enjoying a normal peaceful morning until the hammering started and at that point, the noise startled Sadie and she sat up in the dog bed where she had been asleep as if to say, “What’s that noise that disturbed my snoozing?!”

“What’s that noise?”

Squirrelly Squirrel

My sister, Molly, patrols our backyard every morning.  She is on squirrel patrol and most days she is rewarded for her diligence, because that big fat squirrelly squirrel usually shows up to run across the top of our fence and jump back and forth between the trees.  I swear that squirrel likes to taunt us Scotties and both of my sisters fall for his shenanigans, but not me!  I could care less about that squirrel, because Molly and Sadie are fascinated by him enough for all three of us.  Now if he lost his footing and fell into our yard, that would be a different thing.  Then it would be GAME ON!!!

Molly: Where’s that squirrel?

It’s time for him to show up.

Do I hear squirrelly footsteps?

Scottie Sandwich

It’s very rare when all three of us Scotties are found hanging out together.  Sadie and I snuggle constantly, but Molly likes to do her own thing and when Sadie and I are curled up on our dog bed in front of the fire, Molly will have found a comfy spot on the couch, snuggled up next to a pillow.

Our dog bed only holds two dogs, but Molly prefers to stretch out on the couch anyway, so our snoozing arrangement works well for us.  Only once have the three of us been found together on the couch and that was when Sadie and I jumped up next to Molly, who was already settled there.  Sadie was in a he middle of us two wheaties, so we looked like a big Scottie sandwich.  Like I said, it only happened once, so I don’t anticipate another Scottie sandwich situation happening again anytime soon!
