There’s big elves and small elves and some sit upon shelves.
Elves help out their boss, jolly kind Santa Claus.

Elves help out their boss, jolly kind Santa Claus.
Elves seem kind of funny and cheerful and sunny.
They’re holiday prizes that come in all sizes.
It’s that time of year when we all need good cheer,
So I said to myself, “I must catch an elf!”
I need some information on this subject. Maybe I can learn something here, since my Elfapalooza begins in two days.
Wait! I think I get it!
Hey, what’s this? It looks like an elf hat. I wonder if elves are real and if they are, can you can catch them? Now that’s a good question!
Yep, this is one of those days—one of those days when you feel like hauling out the festive accessories and dressing up for a change!
It’s 14 degrees outside and it snowed overnight. What do we Scotties do on a snow day? We take turns lounging in our two favorite spots, which are hanging out in our dog bed in front of the fireplace or curled up on pillows on the couch.
We just came in from the backyard where we were trying to dig through the snow, but Wen had us come in as soon as she had the deck cleared and now we are nice and toasty warm. As much as we love playing in the snow, snuggling up inside afterwards is even better!
This time of year, the closer to Christmas we get, the doggie Christmas outfits and accessories start appearing for us Scotties to try on for pictures. We actually have a huge container of holiday dog outfits in an upstairs closet that is overrunning with all sorts of props, festive sweaters, hats, goofy glasses, and even shoes. Wen has been adding to our collection every year, so she has had to get rid of some things and donate them, because the collection was overtaking the closet.
I guess when she’s shopping and she sees something cute or fun, she has to bring it home and her latest acquisition was a festive hat. Maybe this was the largest size they had, but in my opinion, I think I could use a bigger size!
The Rocky Mountain Scottish Terrier Club annual Christmas lunch is a week away and Wen has been busy making Scottie crafts for the last two months to sell at the event as she has for many years.
This year, in addition to her regular crafted items, she has been decorating five foot lamp posts with plush Scotties in festive sweaters and I of course have been the head snoopervisor, keeping an eye on the progress of each Scottie lamp post.
The first lamp post has already been spoken for, so she made a second one and after she posted pictures of them on Facebook, several people showed interest in the second lamp post, so she made a third one. Will there be a fourth one? Who knows, but we hope they all get a happy new home for Christmas!
Here I am, soaking up the warmth from the fireplace. This is our favorite spot in the house for Sadie and me when the fireplace is on. We have two dog beds in our living room and the smaller one usually ends up in front of the fireplace, so squeezing both of us in it doesn’t work very well. We have learned to take turns using it though and when one of us gets too hot from the fireplace, we jump out and the other one jumps in.
Soaking up the warmth feels so good—at least until we feel as if we’re cooking!
