No Scottie Zone

At our house, dogs are not allowed on the beds.  The days of Scotties sleeping on the beds are decades over and for many years, each of us has had our own giant crate or wire cage that serves as our own little house, so there is absolutely no reason for any of us to ever be found up on a bed.

That’s not to say that very rarely, one of us who is feeling particularly agile doesn’t jump up on a bed after having a total lapse in judgment though, even though we know better.  It’s only a matter of time until Wen catches us up where it’s off limits and she quickly scoots us off the bed.

I suppose since we Scotties are welcome to hang out on the living room couch and loveseat and we are lounging there constantly, it is okay that the beds are a no Scottie zone. That doesn’t mean that we tenacious terriers won’t push the boundaries every once in awhile though!

What am I doing on the bed? Uh……….

On the Job

We Scotties have made a pledge.  It may be an odd sort of pledge, but we’re very serious about it and we’re diligent about carrying it out.  What is this pledge?  We don’t want anyone to use the bathrooms in our house unaccompanied!

I’m not sure what’s so fascinating about people using the bathroom, but at least one, if not more Scottie noses will end up in the bathroom with you and if you happen to close the bathroom door, we will be sitting right outside the door, waiting until you come out.  Why?  Because we Scotties are your bathroom buddies and we are always on the job!

Whatcha doin’ in there?

Snoopervisors

Who’s the official crafts supervisor at our house?  Me, Riley!  My nose is always on the spot, checking things out.  Sometimes though, I can get a little bored and my sister, Sadie, steps in for me.  It never hurts to have a new helper and an extra set of beady Scottie eyes when you’re talking quality control.

To be honest, I don’t know how effective either of us Scotties is as far as crafts supervisors go.  Maybe instead of crafts supervisors, it would be more accurate to call us “snoopervisors!”

Sadie steps in….

Nosy Noses

We Scotties follow our noses around and whenever there’s something interesting, our noses are right there to check it out.  Since there’s been all kinds of crafting going on at our house, our noses have been extra busy lately and every time we notice something new, our noses are on the spot to investigate.

I suppose you could say that with all the sniffing around that we do, our noses are nosy noses, even though that’s kind of redundant!

Crafting Time

Fall is creeping up on us and what does that mean at our house?  It’s Scottie crafting time again!  There has been a flurry of activity in the kitchen with Wen painting and hot gluing like crazy and all of a sudden, it looks like Christmas when it’s still summer time.

Naturally, we Scotties are curious to see what’s going on, so she has to be very careful not to drop any pieces of plastic, wire, buttons, or ornaments on the floor or we will gobble them up, because anything that hits the floor is fair game for Scotties and we are nosy, so we four-footed hazards are always around when she is crafting.

Yep, it looks like Christmas and I’m back supervising the activities, because it’s Scottie crafting time again, and the only things missing are snow and Christmas music!

Game Day

Hey, Broncos fans, it’s game day!  Football season is revving up and we’re going to see a new starting quarterback for this game.  Our favorite team hasn’t been too successful the last few years, so maybe this is exactly what we need to fire it up!  It’s the last preseason game, so let’s go Broncos!  Show us what you’ve got!

Happy National Dog Day!

Here we are, the early morning squirrel patrol, keeping watch for those dastardly little critters.  This is generally how we start our mornings, enjoying some sunshine and protecting our yard from squirrel intruders.

Today, the squirrel patrol received extra treats to celebrate National Dog Day and needless to say, all three of us were ecstatic!  Any day that honors us dogs is a special day, so Happy National Dog Day, everyone!  Time to celebrate your furry friends!

The First Time

My sister, Sadie, recently jumped up on the back of the couch for the first time and it seems that the first time has led to more times.   Ever since, she has been walking along the backs of the couch and the loveseat and making herself comfortable by stretching out up there.

It’s not as though it’s unusual behavior, as several of Wen’s prior Scotties have perched on the backs of couches in the past, but it’s been quite a few years and quite a few Scotties ago.

Now that she has conquered the back of the couch, Wen hopes that Sadie doesn’t plant herself up there all the time, or there’s going to have to be lots of couch fluffing going on every time that Sadie jumps down!

Sadie

What the heck are you doing, Sadie?
