Up, Up and Away!

Since it’s less than a week until Halloween, it’s time to think about a costume.  With all the publicity about humans going for short jaunts into space lately, maybe I should choose to be an astronaut.  Up, up and away!  Zoom, zoom, zoom!  Hmmm, something to consider.

It’s That Time of Year….

It’s that time of year when everything’s pumpkin.  Jack-o-lanterns, pumpkin pies, pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin bread and cookies, pumpkin scented candles and air fresheners and the list goes on.  Isn’t it interesting how back in the day, a pumpkin was carved and maybe the seeds were toasted or that pumpkin ended up as a pie, but now there’s a veritable cornucopia of pumpkin items to enjoy.  Okay, pumpkin fans, it’s our season!

Cookie!

Riley:  Cookie!  You have a cookie and you’re eating that cookie right now!  How can you eat that cookie when you know your favorite buddy is sitting right here, looking at you? Can’t you spare a little bit of that cookie for your buddy?  You know you want to.  Oh, come on, please share your cookie with me!  Pretty pleeeeeeze?!!!

Doggie Decisions

You can almost read Molly’s mind as she ponders her next move.  We just came in from playing in the yard.  We chased the squirrel, we chomped on some landscaping bark, we sniffed around and looked for new spots to dig holes, we checked out the fallen leaves, and we got some nice warm sun which felt really great.  Now what do we do?  Do we stretch out on the couch?  Chase Sadie around the living room?  Gnaw on chew toys?  Get comfy in the dog bed?  Hmmmm, doggie decisions, decisions, decisions….

Move Over!

When the weather gets cold, we Scotties love to snuggle up on our dog bed in front of the fireplace, but sometimes we fall asleep there or we hang out until we get too toasty warm.  What do we do when we get too hot?  We just get up and move over!

The AVS Are Back!

YAY!!  The AVS are back!  It’s time for NHL hockey again and it’s opening night for our favorite team!   Are we glued to the TV?  You bet!  Let’s go AVS!!!

Fireplace Buddies

Early this morning when we Scotties went outside, it was actually cold!   Since we’ve not switched from AC to the furnace yet, Wen decided to turn on the fireplace to warm up the living room.  All it takes is a chilly fall day and a blazing fire and Sadie and I are back in front of the fireplace.  Yep, we two fireplace buddies like to camp out on our dog bed and soak up the warmth.

Nobody likes to hang out by the fireplace as much as Sadie does though.  She stretches out on the dog bed in front of the fireplace until she’s panting and she’s not only toasty warm, but practically roasted!  Finally, she hops out to go and cool off, which is fine, because then there’s more room for me and I like to have the whole bed to myself, which doesn’t happen very often!

The Fortune Teller

Now that it’s October, all kinds of spooky decorations are popping up.  There are scary movies all over TV and you can tell that Halloween is coming.

We Scotties dress up for Halloween and we can get in the “spirit” of things too.  For example, a famous fortune teller is in our presence right now who looks very suspiciously like me.  Care to have your fortune told?

“I Told You So!”

Sometimes we Scotties do things that we know will get us in trouble, but we seem to do them anyway.  We may know better, but dogs will be dogs and the odds are that we will eventually do something that earns us a big fat lecture.

Sadie seems to get in trouble a bit more than Molly and I do and each time she looks very regretful, but chances are good that she will repeat her offense in the future, even though she continues to get in trouble.  If I could talk like a human, when Sadie does something to get herself in trouble, I would probably have one thing to say, “I told you so!”

“I told you so!”

A New Obsession

There seems to be a new obsession with pickleball at our house!  Ever since Wen took pickleball classes and she has been playing regularly, more and more pickleball equipment has been showing up.   We now have a collection of indoor and outdoor pickleballs, paddles, a pickleball caddy, and even a practice net.

We Scotties haven’t exactly witnessed a game, but we will occasionally chase after a stray pickleball when Wen is practicing.  Hey, a ball’s a ball!

Ready to play?
