Our Champion Tail Wagger

Who’s the best tail wagger at our house?  Well, it’s definitely not me, because it takes something special or very exciting for me to express myself by wagging my tail.  Sadie wags her tail all the time and she can even do a circular wag, but Molly takes the prize.  All you have to do is look at her and her tail starts thumping.  Call her name and her tail goes crazy.  Sometimes, I swear that she has a turbo motor in her tail with the speed that she is able to wag it and of the three of us Scotties, she is our champion tail wagger!

A Nice Plush Spot

As soon as Wen straightens the couch pillows and throws and everything looks nice, we Scotties move in and mess it up.  We nose the pillows all around and we paw at the throws on the back of the couch until we have a comfy spot to settle in.

You might say that we are more concerned with comfort than looks, mainly because we’re pretty much only thinking about relaxing and that big old snooze that’s going to happen after we get the pillows and throws arranged to our liking.  After all, what’s better than a nice plush spot to curl up on?!

Mr. Nosy

We Scotties like to keep track of what’s going on in our yard, but we don’t exactly have windows positioned so that we can easily look out.  In order for us to get a good view of the yard, we really only have one option and that’s looking out our patio door, which we frequently do to check on any dastardly squirrels that might be running across the top of the fence or hanging out in our trees.

Yeah, we Scotties are pretty nosy and we especially like to watch when Wen is doing yard work and we’ve been escorted inside so we don’t get in her way while she’s working. Just call me Mr. Nosy, because if something is going on outside and I can’t be out there, I’m sure as heck going to be watching from the patio door!

Now We’re Talking!

Our favorite football team, the Denver Broncos, surprised us all and got a stunning win today!  It’s been kind of a rollercoaster season and the Broncos weren’t looking really good, but I guess it’s true, any given Sunday….

Way to go, Broncos!  Now we’re talking!

Deep Doggie Thoughts

Sometimes we Scotties have to take a moment to ponder our next move.  Those are the times when we look like we’re thinking deep doggie thoughts.  Of course, everything is relative and what dogs think are deep thoughts might not be so deep to humans, but nevertheless, we’re pausing to consider what to do next.  For example, should  I go and grab that toy?  What should I do first—lick my paws or scratch that itch?  Isn’t about time to eat?  Shall I stretch out on the couch or on the dog bed?  Do I need to go outside right now or can I wait awhile?  What was that noise?  Now those are some deep doggie thoughts!

What shall I do next?

Simple Pleasures

We Scotties RARELY (and I mean VERY rarely) get a taste of people food, but we sure get whiffs of good smells coming from our kitchen when something is baking in the oven or being prepared on the stove.  Those smells are so mouth-watering sometimes that they make us wonder what the heck smells so good and if there even a remote chance that we Scotties could score a tasty morsel?

Freshly baked cookies smell really good and then there’s yummy meat smells like roast beef, turkey, hamburgers, or chicken, but the ultimate smell has to be bacon.  What could possibly smell better to a dog than bacon?   Hmmmm, that’s a good question.

I’ve never actually tasted bacon that’s prepared for humans, but from the smell, it must be heavenly!  Anyway, I hope those tantalizing smells keep coming from our kitchen. Gotta love those simple pkeasures!

What smells so good?

Toasty Time

All of a sudden it’s November and what does that mean?  Colder weather and what comes with colder weather?  Toasty time for us Scotties in front of the fireplace!

Our dog bed is only large enough for two Scotties, but that’s okay, because Molly would never share the dog bed.  She rarely uses it anyway, because she prefers her spot on the couch where she can stretch out on pillows or the armrest.

On the other hand, Sadie and I love to camp out for toasty time in front of the fireplace and we snuggle up on our dog bed until we get too toasty warm!

Molly: Those two are always camped out in front of the fireplace!

Happy Halloween!

It’s time to get ready for trick-or-treaters and that includes us dogs, because we love a tasty dog treat and we’ll gladly do a trick to get one!  Happy Halloween!  Everyone have a fun and safe holiday!

Is It Halloween Yet?

We Scotties have endured some crazy Halloween costumes over the years.  Some have been silly, some have been very elaborate, and some have been really creative to the point of being ridiculous!

Not all of us Scotties through the years have been the perfect Halloween costume models.  I’d have to say that Kirby, Sunny, and I have been the most cooperative, but Sadie has definitely had the most struggles.  She obviously doesn’t like to be dressed up at all and every attempt to have her do a costume photo shoot has been under duress.

There have been several times where we Scotties have actually worn wigs and those wigs have definitely enhanced our costumes.  There’s just something extra special about a Scottie with a goofy hairdo!
