Pancakes or French Toast?

Sadie likes to lay on her back on the couch in the morning and just hang out.  Sometimes she sniffs the air when particularly good smells are coming from the kitchen as if she is trying to determine what’s cooking.  You’d think that she was a gourmet or something with the effort she puts into sniffing, when pretty much her only expertise lies with Hills dog food!

Hmmmm, do I smell pancakes or French toast?

Pi Day

Yesterday was March 14, also known as Pi Day, since it was 3.14, the third month and the fourteenth day.  To celebrate the day at our house, Wen took a little liberty and had pizza pie.  I guess pi can be a pie too, since it’s pronounced the same and I’d have to say that a pie is a much better option than pi, especially if you’re hungry!

Stuck Like Glue

We Scotties have all been given nicknames.  For example, some of mine are the obvious Rileyroozers, RiRi,  RiRiroozers, and Rireez.  Sadie is called Taters and Tatarz more often than she is called by her name.  Wen really should have registered her as Sadie Taters with the AKC.   Molly’s nicknames are Mol-Mol, Moozers, and Pretty Girl.   Also, even though she is eight years old now, Molly is still Wen’s Baby Girl.  She may be older than Sadie, but Molly’s always been Baby Girl and I’m sure that Wen will call her Baby Girl her entire life, because our nicknames have stuck like glue.

A Plush Surprise

So when Wen went to play pickleball with her friends yesterday, she got a really nice surprise from one of the gals.   As a matter of fact, it was a big plush surprise, a life-sized plush Scottie with a red plaid coat that her friend, Karen, had found.  She thought that it would be fun to see how we Scotties reacted to the plush toy, so when she saw the Scottie at the thrift shop in perfect condition, she bought it for Wen, who of course thought that the Scottie was the best surprise ever.

Later, when Wen walked into our house with the plush guy, Molly, Sadie, and I were curious and when she set him on the floor, we naturally had to check him out, so we sniffed all over him and even poked at him with our noses until we determined that he was a plush toy addition to our Scottie family and not a new living breathing dog.  Nothing like a big plush surprise to capture the attention of us three inquisitive Scotties!

Big Things

Hey, Denver Broncos fans, things are finally looking up!  We have a new coaching staff and we’re going to have a new hall of fame caliber quarterback.  We’ve endured some grim years since our Super Bowl win in 2015, but next year’s going to be different and the Broncos are going to be a winning team.  We’re expecting big things, Broncos!

Late Night Scotties

Every once in awhile, instead of putting us to bed at our usual time, Wen lets us Scotties stay up late with her.  Last night was one of those times and the three of us ended up snoozing on the couch together on a blanket right next to where she was sitting.  Seeing all three of us stretched out on the couch next to each other must have been such an unusual sight that Wen took a picture of us.  It was nice of her to let us stay up late, but it seems that we late night Scotties probably just could have gone to bed at our regular time after all, since we ended up asleep anyway.

Lookin’ and Smellin’ Good!

Yesterday was grooming day and we Scotties spent several hours at Gigi’s grooming shop getting beautified.  Wen absolutely loves how we look and smell when we’re freshly groomed and we’ve been sprayed with doggie cologne and yesterday was no exception.  We’re lookin’ and smellin’ good right now and we can only hope that the doggie cologne lingers for awhile!

Fat Tuesday

So yesterday was Mardi Gras and since we like to celebrate holidays at our house, I had to participate.  Okay, let’s just say that I’m a really good sport and it seemed appropriate that any day known as Fat Tuesday deserved a little celebration.

Serious Sunshine

So after nearly a week of below zero temperatures, the weather finally warmed up and we got some serious sunshine, so instead of trudging through snow, we Scotties spent time in the yard soaking up the sun.  The only bad thing was thanks to all that sunshine, as the snow melted, you could see all the holes that we had dug previously and Wen wasn’t too thrilled about the Swiss cheese look of our yard.  Oops!  Now that the ground isn’t frozen, it’s even easier for us to dig holes, so as we’re enjoying the sunshine the next few days, we will undoubtedly get the urge to dig and we’ll have to be sneaky so we don’t get in trouble.  What’s a few more holes when you’re out enjoying the sunshine?!
