Guess who’s 11 years old today? Yep, today’s my birthday and we’re celebrating! I got a whole bag of toys and treats, so Molly, Sadie, and I are going to have the best day! Am I really eleven years old already? Wow!

My sister, Sadie has a habit of joining me on the couch when I am hanging out and relaxing. She hops up there and stretches out right next to me. I guess that she considers the two of us couch buddies, because she won’t settle in next to Molly, who likes her personal space. That leaves me as Sadie’s one and only option for a canine couch buddy, which is fine, because she doesn’t bug me and paw at me for attention like she does when she scooches up next to Wen on the couch. As long as she’s not annoying, I’m okay with us being couch buddies. Why? I’m an easy-going dog!
Every year, starting in the springtime, little butterflies flit around and look pretty. Some of them are tiny and white and some of them are bigger and more colorful. Oh, wait: that’s my sister, Molly!
Some days you just have the urge to look nice. If the saying “clothes make the man” is true, why can’t clothes make the dog also? After all, a good look is a good look!
Am I stylin’?
Yesterday was Sadie’s ninth birthday and of course we had to celebrate her big day. She got cool dog toys and treats and when Wen wanted to take her picture, as per usual, Sadie didn’t exactly want to cooperate, so it took several tries.
Sadie loves to chew up toys and she already ruined her new cupcake treat dispenser and she chewed off two legs on a plush lizard for super chewers. Now she’s obsessed with a rubber pickle toy that she’s guarding and chewing on.
I have to say that Sadie had a good birthday though and Molly and I certainly enjoyed all the extra treats right along with her!
Hey, Sadie, would you like a treat?
SLURP!
(I guess that’s a yes!)
Guess who is having the most fun with our new dog toy. Yep, it’s me, Riley! I actually play with the donut toy, biting it, tossing it, and carrying it around, while Molly and Sadie just like to chew on it and tear it apart.
Before Sadie finally ripped up the toy, I had some real quality time with it and did I ever have fun! Can’t wait until Wen comes home with another donut toy!
Oh, happy day! Wen came home with a new donut toy for us Scotties and it’s been a long time since we’ve had one. Did I mention that I LOVE donut toys?!
They don’t tend to last long at our house though, because we chew holes in the the plush covers quickly and before you know it, the plastic inserts with the squeakers are out and we’re chewing them up, so Wen takes them away and they go in the trash.
For now though, we can play with the donut toy in between when we chew on it. It’s fun to carry it around, toss it up into the air, and grab it. Did I mention that donut toys are the best?!
Molly: Gee, I want that donut toy….
Riley: Not going to happen!
Somebody’s sneaking up on me?
Where? I don’t see anybody.
You must be mistaken!
We stayed up until midnight last night to watch the Colorado Avalanche lose in double overtime. There was much yelling and screaming as the tension built, only for us to have a deflating loss. Guess we can lament our loss and look forward to next season….
🎼 Avs lost last night and we is sad, Doo-dah, doo-dah!
Double overtime was bad, Oh, doo-dah day!
