Okay, we’re all here. Let’s hear some piano music. We may not be paying audience members, but we do enjoy hearing a few tunes and if you’re lucky, we may sing along!

My sister, Molly has come up with a way to get through the hot days of summer. She found a spot on the loveseat where she can enjoy the cool breezes from the fan. Most days, you can find Molly all stretched out on her perch. Evidently, she has found the best and coolest place to bask in the breezes and she’s not sharing her spot!

Molly
I heard an expression that applies to us Scotties perfectly: hot diggity dog! The temperature has been hovering in the high 90’s, so it has definitely been hot. We Scotties have been getting in trouble lately for digging holes in our backyard, so diggity applies too. Obviously, we Scotties are dogs, so I rest my case. Hot diggity dog, we are hot diggity dogs!

It’s hot out here.

Where shall I dig my next hole?
Sadie has become a welcome visitor at a local nursing home. Wen’s good friend from the Rocky Mountain Scottish Terrier Club, whom she has known for years, is a resident at the nursing home and Wen takes Sadie for weekly visits because her friend misses having a dog.
Sadie seems to get along well with people and she lets the nursing home residents pet her, all the while happily wagging her tail. Wen’s friend loves Sadie’s expressive eyes and since Sadie can be quite entertaining with her silly Scottie antics, her visits have been beneficial for Wen’s friend. Sometimes, a visit from a friendly little Scottie can be the best medicine!

Visiting Day
My older sister, Sunny, has a way of making her needs known. When she needs to go outside, if it’s dinner time, or even if the water bowl is empty, Sunny has a way of going up to Wen and giving her a look that says what she wants. I have to give it to her—Sunny has a very expressive face and over the years, she has become the master of non-verbal communication.
Sometimes, when her facial expressions seem to be too subtle and she’s not getting immediate results, Sunny pulls out the big guns. She jumps up next to Wen on the couch and puts her two front feet on her. It’s Sunny’s not too subtle way of saying “Hello, pay attention to me!” and you know what? She is the master and it works!

Hello! The water bowl is empty!
Don’t you just love it when you’re enjoying a book and someone has to come up and read over your shoulder?

Happy 4th of July!! We hope you have a fun and safe holiday. Happy birthday, America!

Sometimes you can find adventure right in your own backyard….

Every time that we Scotties get groomed, we have our usual post-grooming routine. After our long car ride home from the grooming shop, we all head straight to the water bowl and take a big drink. Then, one by one, we all end up on the couch where we quickly fall asleep.
All the activities of the busy grooming shop and the car rides there and back home again seem to be plenty of excitement for one day and before long, we are all snoring away. The only thing that eventually wakes us is the sweet sound of our food being poured into our dishes for dinner. After all, no self-respecting Scottie would ever miss a meal, except under extreme circumstances!

Good to be back home!

Nothing like a nice big drink!
June is the month that both Molly and I were born. I am three weeks older than she is, but we both recently turned five years old, so we celebrated our birthdays together. In other words, June is double doggie birthday month at our house, which makes for special treats and toys and what could be better than special treats and toys? Double special treats and toys! Happy Birthday to us!
