Little “Helpers”

We just came back inside after “helping” Wen do yard work.  “Helping” is probably not the most accurate word to describe what we do while she is busy raking and bagging leaves, as we don’t really help at all.  We actually cause more work for her by constantly running through her neat piles of leaves and scattering them all over.  Yes, we aren’t ideal helpers, but she enjoys our company while she is working and we’re definitely there for moral support!

Maybe “troublemakers”  or “work watchers” describes us Scotties better, but we still like to think of ourselves as loyal little “helpers.”   In reality, we may cause trouble and we may not be any help, but we’ll be happy to watch you work any time!

Here’s your “helpers!”

Pump It Up!

What takes precedence over decorating for Christmas at our house?  Denver Broncos football, of course!  Our favorite football team may have had a less than inspiring season so far, but last Sunday’s unexpected win was very exciting and gave us fans new hope.

Here it is, Sunday Funday once again!  Pump it up, Broncos fans!

It’s a Textural Thing!

After swiping a Kleenex twice this morning, what did I hear?  “Riley!  You can’t eat paper products!  Do you want an obstruction?!”  Yeah, I know I get in trouble EVERY time that I get caught with a piece of paper, a Kleenex, or a paper towel. But darn it anyway, they are fun to chew up and eat.  It’s a textural thing!

Busted!

Dog Bed

We got a real dog bed!  Wen hasn’t brought a dog bed home in years, because we Scotties would always chew them up and they would end up in the trash, but when she saw one with a Scottie pattern, she evidently couldn’t resist.  I guess that she felt sorry for us sprawled out on the floor by the fireplace, so now we have a super comfy bed to curl up on.

As soon as the bed was in place in front of the fireplace, we all checked it out and then Sadie and I staked our claim, since we are the two who are usually found enjoying the heat that the fireplace gives off.

Yay for Scottie patterned fabric!  Yay for a nice new plush dog bed!  When the fireplace is on, it hasn’t gone unoccupied yet.  Thank you!

Cold Noses

We Scotties have been enjoying the snow in our backyard the last couple of days.  For some reason, we like to stick our big noses in the snow and it’s always obvious what we’ve been up to when we come back inside the house.  There is nothing like cold noses that have been in the snow noses!

Crafting Time

Our kitchen counters and dining room table are loaded with craft supplies.  Wen has been busy making Scottie-themed Christmas crafts and they are taking over our house!  Crafting time means that there are all kinds of fascinating things for us Scotties to get into and believe me, if some glittery item or a glue stick falls to the floor, we Scotties are right there to grab it.

The other day, Wen was working on centerpieces and she inadvertently knocked some miniature felt Christmas stockings off the counter.  In a flash, Sadie ran over, scooped one up and had holes chewed in it before Wen realized what was going on.

All of the little parts and pieces may be hazardous to our health, but that doesn’t seem to stop us, because we Scotties have been known to latch onto an assortment of items, such as ribbon, buttons, floral wire, fiber fill stuffing, floral picks, fabric, and on and on.  One of my all-time personal favorites is a glue stick, because they are nice and chewy.

Needless to say, all of the craft supplies are off limits to us, but we still like to hang around, just in case.  You’d think that we would learn from getting a lecture each time that we have gotten ahold of some tantalizing item, only to have Wen swoop down and take it away, but no-o-o!  Crafting time provides us with entertainment.  You never know when a strand of miniature twinkle lights could hit the floor!

Is that for me?

Sunday Snowday

We Scotties woke up to a winter wonderland and it’s not even winter yet!  It had snowed overnight and we were anxious to go out and play in the snow.

After romping around for awhile, chasing and licking snowflakes, Molly, Sadie, and I are usually ready to come inside, so we line up at the patio door and Wen lets us in.  Sunny, even though she is the oldest, likes the snow so much that she always lags behind and Wen has to call her several times to come in.  It seems as though our Sunny Bunny is a snow bunny!

Today was not only Sunday Funday, but it was also Sunday Snowday!  Now, for some quality time in front of the fireplace….

We’re ready to come in!
