Just when you think you’ve seen the last snowfall of the year, think again! Yes, we had another visit from from the snow fairy here in Colorado yesterday. Spring is here, but is it really???

We had some serious rain yesterday, so we Scotties seemed to have some cabin fever. Wen made sure that we had plenty of toys to play with, which worked for awhile, but as per usual, we all ended up stretched out on the couch for a long afternoon nap. By the time that we woke up and were ready for a good stint in the backyard, it was thundering and another wave of rain came through, so we made a quick trip outside and then we were back inside with nothing special to do. On occasions like this, I go up to Wen with my best rainy day “What are we going to do now?” face, which usually gets us a nice treat and it worked like a charm. We each got a big chew stick to keep us occupied, but the joke was on her: we chewed through them like buzz saws and in no time at all, I was back with my rainy day face to try to schmooze another treat. Yeah, well, that didn’t exactly work, as it was almost dinner time. Oh, well, it was worth a try!

What are we going to do now?
It’s Cinco de Mayo, so let’s celebrate with a little Mixican flair! (A few tacos wouldn’t hurt, hint hint!)

It’s the coolest day of the year for Star Wars fans! May the 4th be with you!

We love hockey at our house and we are big fans of the Colorado Avalanche! Currently, they are in Round 2 of the Stanley Cup playoffs and they are down by a game, so it’s time to tie it up! Let’s go AVS!!!

We woke up to snow on the ground and tomorrow is the first of May! Everything is green and our big tree in the backyard has blossoms, but winter just had to have one last blast. Of course, we Scotties think of the snow as a giant snow cone and my three sisters were slurping up enough snow on the deck this morning to get a brain freeze!
We actually had so much fun exploring in the yard that Wen had a hard time convincing us to come in for our morning meal. With the warm weather that we’ve been having, finding snow on the ground was kind of a nice surprise. As soon as we ate though, all four of us were settled on the couch for a morning snooze.
Playing in the snow was awesome, but it’s spring, so by tomorrow, the seasons will flip flop again, and we will be back to sunning ourselves, instead of dashing through the snow. That’s springtime in Colorado!

One of Wen’s friends has been sending us photos of her new Scottie puppy. The photos are really cute and they show the huge size difference between the little puppy and the adult Scotties in the household. The photos reminded Wen of when she got Corky as a tiny puppy and her adult dog, Duffy, towered over little Corky.
Duffy was an easy going gentleman Scottie and Corky was a little pistol. Even though Duffy seemed like a giant, compared to Corky, she had so much spunk that she challenged her older brother for every toy with absolutely no fear. The size difference didn’t seem to matter at all and although Corky was tiny at that point, she made up for her small size with her big personality and Duffy, who had grown up with much older dogs, enjoyed romping around with his little buddy, who led him on a merry chase every day. As Corky grew, so did her friendship with Duffy and the big dog and the little puppy became inseparable best friends for life.

There’s a great version of the famous song, “Every Breath You Take,” by The Police on the Internet that applies to us Scotties. Some dog lover who really knows us dogs must have made up these new lyrics!

Every snack you make
Every meal you bake
Every bite you take
I’ll be watchin’ you!
Between snowstorms and upcoming hailstorms, we are enjoying nice spring weather. What do we Scotties do on pleasant sunny days? We go cruisin’ around our backyard. You bunnies and squirrels better look out! We Scotties are on patrol!
