Thump, Thump, Thump

What’s that sound?   Thump, thump, thump.   There it goes again!  Thump, thump, thump.  Oh, it’s Sadie.  She’s lying on the couch and every time that Wen walks by her, Sadie wags her tail and it makes a thumping sound on the couch.  Thump, thump, thump, thump, thump.  Obviously, Sadie is a happy Scottie!

Relaxin’

We Scotties know how to take it easy!  Now that the summer days are finally getting hot with temperatures in the 90’s, we are spending lots of time stretched out on the couch in our nice cool house.  My sister, Sunny, likes to lie on the cool tile floors in the kitchen and the laundry room and we all claim our places on the furniture to stretch out where we can catch the breeze from the ceiling fan or the portable tower fan.  Not to say that we don’t enjoy the sunshine out in our backyard, but when it’s getting close to triple digits outside, we prefer being where it’s air conditioned, relaxin’ in our favorite spots.

Who Did That?

Our Scottie patterned dog bed has been so well used that Wen left it in the living room, rather than putting it away for the summer.  Each one of us Scotties has been spotted all stretched out in the comfy bed for a nap many times and the bed has somehow survived without being chewed up, which was kind of a miracle, until Wen found a hole in the bed and pieces of stuffing on the floor the other day.  Who did that?  Who was the culprit?  None of us Scotties looked especially guilty and for sure, no one was talking!

A few days passed and after finding more stuffing on the floor, Wen decided to sew up the hole in hopes that we would not destroy our plush bed and so far it’s working.  After all, it would be a shame to throw away a comfortable bed that we all enjoy–especially since the fabric has little Scotties all over it!

Who’s the Queen?

Who’s the Queen of our Scottie clan?  You guessed it–thirteen year old Sunny and there’s absolutely no question about it!  She’s been around the longest and she has way more experience with everything than the rest of us Scotties.  You mess with Sunny and you mess with the Queen!  Molly, Sadie, and I have all learned that very valuable lesson. We respect our Queen!  Long may she reign!

Backyard Picnic

There’s nothing like a backyard picnic.  You can have some super fun times without leaving home!  Well, that is unless an unwanted visitor of the insect type comes to visit!

Picnic time!

Hey, can we get some bug spray over here?!

La La La La La….

Sometimes, we Scotties seem to get into trouble and Wen gives us a lecture.  I know it’s hard to believe that cute little Scotties could ever do sonething to get into trouble for, but it happens!  For example, one of us could steal a paper towel, shred it, and try to eat it, or one of us could open the bathroom cabinet and strew trash all over the floor, or we could get caught digging holes in the backyard, or one of us could slip up and go to the bathroom in the house.  Actually, the list could go on forever, because dogs will be dogs!

Scotties are a sensitive breed though and we don’t like being reprimanded, because it hurts our feelings.  We are even known to sulk after we get in trouble, because we take things personally.  I know that I hate it when I get a lecture and I always try to make up for whatever I did by scooching up to Wen and giving her the sad Scottie eyes.  Of course, it would be even better to not get a lecture at all or at least be able to block it out.  La la la la la–I can’t hear you–la la la la la!  Anything to avoid getting in trouble would be just fine with me!
