Do I Look Stylin’?

Sometimes you just need a new look.  Maybe a trip to the groomer for a spa day, a doggie costume, a dog coat for cold weather, or even a hat will do the trick.  Since we Scotties have a grooming appointment in the near future on our calendar, I’m opting for a hat to change my look.  Do I look stylin’?

Best Buds

Riley and Molly, Molly and Riley.  We are best buds and we wheaties stick together!  We’re both six years old and our birthdays are only three weeks apart, so we’ve grown up together as besties.  What can I say?  There’s nothing like having a sister who’s also my best friend!

And So Goes Another Halloween….

Well, we survived another Halloween with our doorbell ringing for what seemed like an eternity!  We Scotties spent the evening upstairs in a our cages with the TV on while Wen greeted the trick or treaters.  I have to say that we were very well-behaved and she didn’t hear a peep out of us, except when the doorbell rang for the first time and Sadie howled like a banshee!  After that, the only sound coming from upstairs was the TV and later on when the doorbell ceased to ring, Wen turned off the porch light and brought the Halloween decorations in.

Since it was an unusually cold Halloween night, all three of us Scotties ended up by the fireplace to relax after the doorbell marathon and soon after, we called it a night.  And so goes another Halloween….

Trick or Treat!!

Happy Halloween from the MacDuff trolls!!  (We took this picture last month so that Sunny could be in it).  Have a safe and fun time trick or treating!!

Halloween Costume Favorites

Over the years, we Scotties have had some unique Halloween costumes.  We have been good sports in wearing whatever silly outfits Wen has come up with and believe me, some have been real doozies!

We’d like to share some photos of our Halloween costume favorites.  Actually, they’re mostly favorites of Wen and her friends and we Scotties were pretty much barely tolerating being dressed up, but hey, anything for a Halloween treat!

Y.M.C.A.

The other day, Wen was going through her Scottie photos from years past and she came across some of her favorite Halloween costume photos.  We Scotties usually don’t wear group costumes, but one year, the Rocky Mountain Scottish Terrier Club was having a Halloween party with a costume contest and Wen came up with a group themed costume idea for Kirby, Sunny, and Frosty.  She decided to dress them like The Village People and she scoured the stores for appropriate dog costumes.  Fortunately, one store had a police costume and a construction worker costume that would fit Sunny and Kirby.  Wen thought that an Indian costume would be perfect to round out the group, but she had no luck in locating one, so she bought a toddler’s Indian shirt and a feather headdress.  She figured that she could alter the shirt and the headdress to fit Frosty and even though she’s no seamstress, she somehow made them work.

On the day of the Halloween party, Wen dressed up her Scottie trio and played a “Y.M.C.A.”  recording as the judges walked by.  They ended up winning best group costume and the club members swarmed around them, taking pictures as if they were on the red carpet.  It was a proud moment for Wen and her Scottie Village People and those costumes are still her all-time favorite Halloween costumes to this day.

Second Snow

We got our second snow of the season overnight and we Scotties were excited to romp around our backyard first thing in the morning.  There’s nothing like a little snow plowing to start the day!  Of course, after we ate and went back outside for more frolicking, all three of us came straggling back inside and headed straight to the couch for a snooze.  As much as we enjoyed the snow in our yard, we evidently are three big old couch potatoes at heart.

Aced Out

Our Scottie print dog bed won’t appear by the fireplace until it gets really cold outside.  In the meantime, a Scottie print crate pad is by the fireplace and it is Sadie’s and my favorite spot to hangout to enjoy the warmth from the fireplace.  There is only one problem–it is not as large as our dog bed and only one of us fits comfortably on the pad, unless Sadie and I squeeze on there together.  Basically, that means as soon as Wen turns on the fireplace, it’s a personal victory to stake a claim on that crate pad.

This morning, Sadie aced me out and got there first and if that wasn’t bad enough, she was glued to that crate pad for what seemed like forever and all I could do was sit on the floor next it.  Aced out by my little sister!

Yes!

I got the crate pad, I got the crate pad!!

Never Trust a Hungry Plant!

Here’s some Halloween wisdom.  Never trust a hungry plant!  I’ve seen the musical, Little Shop of Horrors and if a plant happens to say “Feed me, Seymour,” don’t waste any time–run away!!!
