Molly’s Birthday

Molly’s birthday was yesterday and it turned out great!  She got new toys and lots of special treats, which were fun for all three of us Scotties.  (That’s the best thing about one of us having a birthday–we all get to enjoy the new toys and extra treats!)

Even though she is the pretty one, Molly is never thrilled to have her picture taken, but she toughed it out for her special day and because of her birthday photo on Facebook, people posted tons of special birthday wishes.  It’s just too bad that now all of our birthdays are over for this year and we’ll have to wait almost a whole year to celebrate again, but on the other hand, everything’s okay, because we did notice that our Milk-Bones treat jar was refilled this morning, so it’s all good!

Happy Birthday, Molly!!

Today is my sister, Molly’s birthday!  We were born only three weeks apart and now we are both seven years old.  Happy Birthday, Molly!  You’re my best friend forever!!

My Best Pillow

I have to say that my sister, Sadie, is my good buddy.  When we are lying on the couch or in front of the fireplace, Sadie constantly snuggles up so that I can rest my head on her and she certainly makes a good pillow!  Who would have thought that sometimes the best pillows have four legs?!

Cruisin’ Fusion

What’s the first thing we Scotties do every day?  We go cruisin’.  Yep, we cruise the backyard.  We take care of business, we patrol for intruders (birds, rabbits, and pesky squirrels), and we sniff our way around the yard to see what’s going on in general.

The next thing we do is enjoy our morning meal, but then we’re immediately back outside, just in case we didn’t completely take care of business and we’re back to cruisin’. Our early morning routine never seems to vary and I guess you could  describe our routine of cruisin’, eating, and cruisin’ as a cruisin’ fusion!

Birthday Season

It’s birthday season at our house.  Sadie started it off with her birthday in late May.  Then, I was next with mine at the beginning of June.  Wen’s birthday was yesterday and Molly’s is coming up on the 26th.  Isn’t it odd that all of us have birthdays within a month?  Strange, but true.  We don’t mind though, because there’s lots of celebrating and birthday season is fun!

Dog Naps

We Scotties can frequently be found on the couch or the loveseat in various poses.  What are we usually doing?  Taking a nap!  It’s kind of amazing how much of every day that we are napping, but it makes sense when they say that dogs normally sleep 12-14 hours each day.  Much of the time though we are not sleeping soundly and we can jump up and be ready for action at any noise.

Since we nap on demand and don’t just sleep one long chunk of time like humans, we have all found our favorite spots for a snooze and 95% of the time, those spots are on the couch or loveseat where it’s soft and comfortable and there’s plenty of room to snuggle up or stretch out.  Of course, we also have a nice comfy dog bed by the fireplace, which is a preferred nap spot in the winter when the fireplace is on and in the summer, we sometimes like to stretch out on our tummies on the cool tile floor, but those are seasonal choices.

Why do we dogs like to nap so much?  Frankly, it’s because we can!

Hey, you woke me up!

Did I miss any treats?
