“Peek-a-boo, I See You!”

My sister, Molly, normally can be found hanging out on our living room loveseat, but on rare occasions, she can be seen peeking out from under the piano.  I don’t think she views underneath the piano as her safe place, because if she gets spooked, she will run upstairs, slowly creep back down the stairs, sit on the landing, and stay there until she feels it is safe enough to come back downstairs.

I just think that it’s a coincidence that Molly sits under the piano, but Wen thinks that she looks cute under there when she peeks out.  It’s kind of like she’s giving you the “peek-a-boo, I see you!” look.

Everybody Look Out!

Everybody look out!  There’s a guard dog on duty at our house and she doesn’t miss a thing!  Yes, it’s Sadie and she’s always on alert.  She may only weigh 18 pounds, but nothing gets past her supersonic ears and she’s ready to bark her warning signal, so beware!

Another Oops!

My sister, Sadie, was in hot water this week when Wen discovered that she had chewed a hole in one of her Crocs.  That was a big oops!  Sadie wasn’t quite finished though. She evidently found the bag of painting supplies that Wen had bought to do some painting in a closet and she grabbed the brand new paintbrush and ate the handle off!

Wen was dismayed when she discovered the cardboard cover of the paintbrush on the living room floor, but she couldn’t believe it when she found Sadie chewing on the rubber handle of the brush and most of the handle was gone!  Fortunately, it was a short handle made of flexible rubber, but here was another instance of Sadie swallowing sonething that she shouldn’t have.  We can only hope that she chewed off the handle in little chunks and that they pass, or somebody is going to be headed to surgery.  Way to go, Sadie, that’s another oops!

Good for Days

What the heck?!  It was 101 degrees today and we Scotties spent most of the day inside.  Our brief trips to the backyard felt like stepping into a blast furnace, so we were happy to come back in the house.  As an added bonus, Wen brought us three brand new chew toys, which kept us occupied for hours.  When a Scottie is busy chewing, there’s no need to think about the weather.  Give me a sturdy chew toy and I’m good for days!

Where’s my chew toy?

Good Morning!

We Scotties have been going out in our backyard very early these days.  By the middle of the morning, it has been broiling hot, so we have been spending the bulk of our time outside in the early mornings and in the evenings when it’s cooler.  We don’t mind getting up early, but I’m not sure that Wen shares our enthusiasm!  She has been getting a lot of yardwork done before the heat sets in though and we Scotties are happy to snoop around and supervise.

One thing about us Scotties:  we are raring to go no matter what time we get up and we’re always eager to give good morning greetings.  Every day is a good day to us!

Good morning from Molly!

We Survived!

Well, another 4th of July has passed and we Scotties survived the fireworks.  There were some loud booms and bangs and Sadie barked at the really loud ones, so we all got a little tranquilizer to help take the edge off of hearing the sudden loud noises.

By 11:30 PM, the fireworks ceased for the night and by the time we went to bed, another 4th had passed.  It’s a festive patriotic holiday, but it can also be stressful for us dogs and our dog owners, so thankfully, we all survived with no ill effects and the extra treats we received to help distract us from the booms and bangs were greatly appreciated!

We survived!

Heatwave

We’re having a bit of a heatwave, so it’s time to rev up the lemonade stand.  Nothing like an ice cold drink when the sun’s blazing hot and the temperature’s rising!  Care for a cold drink?

Nice Smells!

The other day, Wen cut some roses from the bushes in our front yard.  They were so pretty that she decided to take pictures of them, but as soon as she set the vase down, SOMEBODY had to check out the roses.  What did Sadie discover?  Those roses have nice smells!
