A Door Closes and A Window Opens

Years ago, when Wen and her husband brought home their first Scottie puppy, they couldn’t anticipate the tragedy that would occur.  Their little Duffy was born with a congenital heart defect and they would sadly lose him as a puppy in only a few short months.  It was a devastating loss and Wen had never been so sad in her whole life, because Duffy had been the puppy she had always wanted.

Three months went by and Wen’s husband finally agreed to go look at another litter of Scottie puppies.  It was a litter of seven puppies and although a couple of the puppies were already spoken for, a male puppy stole their hearts and they took him home.  Little did they know, that their new puppy, who they named “Casey,” would become their best friend ever and Wen’s favorite dog for decades.

Sometimes, when a door closes, a window opens and a new opportunity presents itself.  If little Duffy hadn’t been born with a heart defect, Wen and her husband would not have brought Casey home and Wen wouldn’t have had who she considered the best dog ever for twelve amazing years.
