Annual Scottie Club Picnic

The Rocky Mountain Scottish Terrier Club held their annual picnic last weekend and Wen decided to take only one of us Scotties.  Which one of us got to go?  Sunny is thirteen and she has personal space issues.  She doesn’t like strange dogs right in her face and she could possibly nip if antagonized.  (Strike 1).  Molly can be shy and the last time that Wen took her to a picnic, poor Molly was overwhelmed with all of the people and dogs, so she pooped and peed all over herself.  (Strike 2).  I am pretty sociable, but on two different occasions, the same aggressive Scottie jumped up and bit me, so Wen was hesitant to take me, since that dog was going to be there.  (Strike 3, we’re all out)!  That left Sadie and since she likes people and dogs, she was the logical choice.

The picnic location was at a nice park with a shelter house and the club members had a great lunch and the Scotties got to explore the park on leash.  Sadie got lots of attention and compliments and had her picture taken several times.  Wen was happy that she had chosen to take her until she was carrying Sadie and her crate back to her car.  As they were passing three Scotties who were leashed to a tree by the sidewalk, the same Scottie who had bitten me twice before, jumped up with lightening speed and bit Sadie, who screamed loudly!  Wen had been told that he had outgrown his bad behavior, but clearly, she was misinformed!  She rushed Sadie to the car and found that she was okay, but will she take any of us Scotties to another event if that biting dog is going to be there?  Very doubtful, but only time will tell….

Sadie: I had a fun time until I got bit!!
