A Little Visitor

Sadie went on another nursing home visit the other day.  Not only does she like to ride in the car, but she is very comfortable hanging out in Wen’s friend’s room at the nursing home.  She settles in on the bed and totally makes herself at home as if she belongs there.  Of course, it doesn’t hurt that Sadie knows there is a box of Milkbones on the bureau and she eagerly waits for the treats she receives each visit, but she really is a good little visitor, considering that all of her visits have lasted over an hour.

Sadie is quite the tail wagger and when nurses or other residents come into Wen’s friend’s room, Sadie sits up on the bed to greet them with her tail thumping.  Over the months she has visited, Sadie has met a lot of residents and staff members and she has become a well-known little visitor.  As Wen carries her through the halls, people smile at them and they always hear people say, “there’s the little black dog!”

It has been heart-warming seeing how Sadie can bring a smile to people who definitely need some cheer and a real eye-opener realizing how much cheer one little visitor can bring.  Nice job, Sadie!
