What is the most popular spot in our house on a cold winter day? It has to be the dog bed that is on the floor in front of the fireplace. Two of us Scotties can fit on the bed at one time and that works out perfectly, since Sadie and I are the only two who are really interested in staking out a claim on the bed. Sunny and Molly both tried out the bed once or twice, but they decided that they preferred to lie on the couch instead. That’s just fine with us though, because if the fireplace is on, either Sadie or I or both of us can be found on the bed, soaking up the heat from the fireplace until we are toasty warm.
Wen had never bought a dog bed before, since we Scotties notoriously shred plush toys and crate pads and she figured that a dog bed would be a giant chew fest for us and a waste of money. That was until she came across a dog bed that was made from fabric with Scotties all over it and it was as so cute that she couldn’t leave the store without it.
After she positioned the bed right by the fireplace, it wasn’t long before it was occupied and it has been occupied ever since. Miracle of miracles, not one of us Scotties has chewed on the bed and it is still in perfect condition two months later! It seems that we Scotties like the comfy Scottie bed and so far, it’s surviving just fine. Who knows, maybe it will even last all the way until spring!
