My older sister, Sunny, has a way of making her needs known. When she needs to go outside, if it’s dinner time, or even if the water bowl is empty, Sunny has a way of going up to Wen and giving her a look that says what she wants. I have to give it to her—Sunny has a very expressive face and over the years, she has become the master of non-verbal communication.
Sometimes, when her facial expressions seem to be too subtle and she’s not getting immediate results, Sunny pulls out the big guns. She jumps up next to Wen on the couch and puts her two front feet on her. It’s Sunny’s not too subtle way of saying “Hello, pay attention to me!” and you know what? She is the master and it works!
