Road Trip to the Mountains

Was I ever lucky!  Wen and her friend decided to go for a drive in the mountains and I got to go along!  I absolutely love road trips and this was a good one!

After my crate and dog supplies were loaded into the car, we headed over to Dillon, Colorado, and the mountains looked spectacular, covered with snow.  We stopped a few times so that Wen could hunt for geocaches and then we drove around Lake Dillon, which was mostly frozen and looked like a gigantic sheet of ice with a layer of snow on top.

Our next stop was Frisco, where Wen and her friend visited their favorite art gallery/clothing boutique on Main Street.  Then, we were off to Breckenridge, which was crowded with skiers, snowboarders, and people exploring the downtown area shops.  I got in a short snooze in the car while Wen and her friend had lunch and then we walked around to find a good spot to take some pictures.

The day flew past and by late afternoon, we were on our way back to Dillon to check out the Ice Castles exhibit, but since the line to get in was too long, shortly after we were on our way home.

Unfortunately, our day’s adventure sped by entirely too fast, but I had fun seeing all the sights and I’m already excited for our next road trip to the mountains!
