We Scotties spend most of our quality couch time perched on throw pillows or on the arm of the couch. Maybe it’s because we seek out what we consider to be the cushiest spot or being short dogs, we want to elevate ourselves to feel taller, but we are practically professional pillow perchers and arm occupiers.
Years ago, Wen’s first wheaten Scottie, Poo, used to perch on the back of the couch and look out the picture window behind her to watch what was happening in the backyard. She would sometimes lie down and drape herself over the back of the couch and if someone sat on the couch while she was up there, they might feel a few inquiring sniffs from Poo’s nose.
Perhaps, we like sitting or lying up higher because we know we have a better view of what’s going on around us. Whatever the reason, we’ll continue to enjoy our perching. We know how to make ouselves at home and comfortable!
