Recovering

My sister, Molly’s mass removal surgery went well and she was back home recovering in several hours.  She’s eating, taking her meds, and pretty much acting like her regular self.

The incision on Molly’s side doesn’t seem to bother her, but Wen puts a cone on her head to keep Molly honest during the night and whenever Wen leaves the house and we Scotties are home alone.

In time, as Molly’s incision heals, it will become itchy, so that “cone of shame” will probably become a necessary accessory 24/7, but for now, when Wen can keep an eye on Molly, she doesn’t have to wear the cone, so she doesn’t feel at all restricted or pay attention to her incision.

Sadie and I were happy to have Molly back home after her day at the vet and hopefully her healing process will be smooth sailing for the next two weeks until her sutures come out.  We are also waiting on the histopath report from the lab to make sure that the mass isn’t anything concerning, so everybody cross your fingers for good news.

Meanwhile, so far, Molly’s recovery is going well and I even spent some quality time hanging out with her today because we’re besties.
